2009 CPF Powerlifting Championships

 

I am pleased to report that the 2009 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships are now confirmed. These will be held in Guwahati, Assam, India 9th to 13th December 2009, organised by Subrata Dutta and the Indian Powerlifting Federation.

The CPF is very grateful to Subrata for taking these Championships, particularly as he is also organising the World Open Championships in Delhi the month before. This will be our third CPF championships and I’m sure it will be an even bigger success the Christchurch. I urge all Commonwealth powerlifting nations to start planning now for 2009. It is very important that we get as many countries as possible competing in order to strengthen our case for inclusion in the Commonwealth Games. Full details including entry forms etc will be sent out early next year, but please note that entry visas will be required for most countries for India.
